What a mysterious image! even though the things in it are recognizable––gravel, a trough, a box, a pile of pipes––they somehow evoke a timeless, unknown place, or an archeological site of major import. The dark gash of the trench is a wound, an exclamation. You've turned what I assume is a simple construction site into art with this photograph, reminding me a bit of Richard Mizrach's work. I love it.
